This is how I start the day in a stable way: My morning ritual with mini-skills

Hello everyone ❤️
For me, the morning is a particularly important moment: the start of the day, a chance to consciously arrive and begin my day in a structured way. This wasn't always the case. Today, I've established a routine that gives me stability and in which I practice mini-skills – small exercises that help me start the day mindfully and present.
My morning begins with getting up, going to the toilet, and taking a few minutes to really wake up. After that, I weigh myself for the first time – a moment when I consciously perceive my body and prepare myself for the day.
Then I prepare Blue and myself for our walk. I put on my shoes and jacket, put Blue's harness on, attach her leash, and have her sit until we're ready to go out the door. These small steps are already a form of mindfulness and structure for me.
Out in the village, I focus entirely on Blue. We walk slowly, and I pay attention to every step, her reactions, and our surroundings. We stop at the road, and Blue is only allowed to cross when I give the "OK" command. Then we continue. Blue waits patiently, and I notice myself becoming calmer, my thoughts slowing down, and me fully present in the moment. Sometimes I practice new commands, and if something doesn't work right away, I take the time to remain patient. Every walk is a little training session: patience, attention, and mindfulness all in one.

At the end of my walk, I deliberately go to the mailbox to collect the mail. Previously, this small task would have been fraught with anxiety; now I do it calmly. This small step shows me that I can once again overcome everyday obstacles, one by one.
Back in the apartment, I take off my jacket and shoes and put away Blue's dishes. Then I prepare our breakfast: protein quark with oat kernels or spelt pops, whole-grain rye bread with cold cuts, freshly sliced carrots, tea or matcha, a ginger-turmeric shot, supplements, and medications. I put everything on a tray. I prepare Blue's raw food and put it in her doggy gate while I sit on the couch and enjoy a leisurely breakfast. I consciously savor the 45 minutes, watch a show, and feel how the routine gives me a sense of security and calm.

This morning ritual is more than just routine for me. It's about developing skills in everyday life : I practice mindfulness, patience, attention, and self-care – all in small, tangible steps. Every moment, from waking up to breakfast, gives me a sense of stability and prepares me to live the day consciously.
Small rituals like this show me that I can take care of myself and Blue, bring structure to my day, and consciously experience moments of peace and joy. They are mini-skills that I use every morning and that help me start the day feeling stable, mindful, and present. 💛
I hope you enjoyed this glimpse into my morning routine and I wish you a wonderful day. ❤️
