Early warning signs – Worksheet A4
This worksheet helps you to better perceive and classify your personal early warning signs along the line of your stress level. It is based on the DBT concept of the stress curve and supports you in recognizing changes early on, before overload or high stress develops.
The sheet is divided into three sections: low tension, medium tension, and high tension. For each tension level, you can record the thoughts, feelings, physical symptoms, and behaviors that occur. This gradually creates a personalized picture of your early warning signs.
Especially under high emotional stress, it can be difficult to recognize in time when your own tension is changing or increasing. This worksheet can help you to pay more attention to your personal warning signals and to use helpful strategies early on, such as appropriate skills.
The worksheet is designed in A4 format and offers ample space to record your personal early warning signs in detail. You can use it individually or, for example, file it in a folder and refer to it whenever needed.
People with borderline personality disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, addiction or other mental health conditions who want to better understand and regulate their tension.
